I schedule meetings with myself (sometimes my imaginary co-worker shows up)

Since being inspired to have meetings with myself each week from an old co-worker who has embarked on a remarkable year of her own, I’ve been walking to my neighborhood shop on Wednesday mornings; I spend an hour to an hour and a half checking-in with myself to make sure I’m doing what I have said I’ll do with my time. Today my agenda was more structured than other weeks since I wanted to re-visit my goals for this year. With the recent opportunity opening up for me to take a full-time position with one of the companies I’ve been doing contract work with, I felt the need to take a look at my goals to make sure I’ll be able to maintain balance in my life and avoid losing perspective of what I believe my overall purpose to be.

Below is my agenda, followed by my agenda that includes the specifics of each item. I find laying life out like this very helpful at times when I’m beginning to feel overwhelmed. Having my goals visible like this also helps me say no to any projects that are proposed to me that do not fall within these parameters. It’s important to me that I focus energies on efforts I truly believe in and not feel bad about ignoring everything else.
